I took 120 Nickel Dollars wrapped in 6 rolls of twenty to my Credit Union (don't deal with banks)
and even though the teller had never seen them, they accepted them with no problem.
They just deposited $120.00 in my account.

I deposited more than 1200 at TD. The young woman behind the counter did not know what to say when she saw that many. The bank manager came over over and said she would accept them, but that the teller would need to count them into batches of 20. I had pre-counted some of them, but had a bag of 500. With no nickel dollar rolls around, there was nothing to do but count them all out right there. The teller was nice about it; after a few hundred, she allowed me to help her out some (they are easiest to count out by just making a single pile and then leveling all piles to the same height). Luckily, there was plenty of staff working that day. It took probably half and hour or so.

My bank knows me well. I have them zip tied in heavy duty plastic bags with a $200 label inside, and they don't even bother to open and count them anymore. Then again, I probably deposit $12,000 to $16,000 annually...

My bank sends them directly to the Bank of Canada, and from there to the mint, for the alloy recovery program - so I know I'll never see those same coins again.
