My coin safe is made out of
1/4 plate steel, bare steel finish, inside and out.
I have had all of my most valuable coins stored in it for nearly 50 years.
Never had even the slightest sign of a problem.

I would think the tins would be okay for coins in holders or otherwise isolated from metal on metal contact.

If coins are stored in an album, there is no metal to metal contact with the steel container, in which the album may be.
