For the first half of 2015 I stopped buying coins all together because once I found ccf I understood that I needed to absorb enough knowledge to competently move forward in my acquisitions. Once I finally felt advanced enough I started to strike and you have all seen what I can do now So, my advise to all new members is... Wait and absorb all you can here before you start making big purchases as it WILL pay off. Now to the point of this thread Let's see how members did for better or worse... What was the best profit and/or the worst loss on a coin you bought and sold in 2015If you have pics or auction links great, if not let's hear some stories of or Happy 2016 everyone! Didnt sell too much on ebay this year, only about $350... Most expensive item sold: my only Capped Bust quarter for $45 1831 small letters, whizzed/polished Yeah, I regret it sometimes.

I sold a lot of Morgans on ebay (I won't post them all, because I'm too lazy). Some I made a profit on, but some I lost money on. Mainly, this was because I listed them as $.99 auctions, and that was a huge mistake...I had ms 64s going for $30...

Bought a huge lot of PCGS graded wheat cents for $170. All MS66 except for a few MS65's. 1942 through 1958 (missing a few dates here in there) Sold 20 right away for $325, plus the 1957-P below for $55 and 10 more for anywhere between $15 - $30. (For reference, I purchased a total of 30 coins and averaged out to about $5 and something per coin) The 1995 DDO I got for $55, sold for $100. That's the best I did with coins, because I usually only just deal with paper money and I've done countless sales in that category this year (glad to see it go). Also found a Dansco 7070 at the LCS for $5 and sold for $50. I already had one so I figured it was a good money making opportunity. Overall a great year and I don't regret selling this stuff at all. This was all bought with the intentions to be sold to make money for other purchases.

I haven't sold anything for a loss, but I have made a few gains. I won't reveal my gains as I flipped them to some CCFers, and I don't want to seem like I made a dishonest buck.

I sold a 1878 S Morgan PCGS MS63 for $80 to a dealer at the ANA Chicago World's Fair of Money. I never took a picture of it but it had some slight crescent toning on the obverse. I paid $73.66 for it on ebay, so I made a little. This was the first time I ever sold a coin and I was happy it was for a profit!

I bought, sold and gave away heaps of coins last year. Not sure if I made a profit or loss but my collections are bigger now than they were at the start of the year Not to mention that I had an absolute "Ball" doing it I have over 200 coins up for auction so far this year and am looking forward to doing it all over again

I didn't sell much this year.. 2 that stand out... Sold $1.50 of silver full date Barber quarters that I paid $22.50 for about $17.50 after fees/shipping... I didn't need to sell, but thought this would have made me a profit and wanted to test the waters.. Had previously sold Washington quarters with decent dates mixed in for 19x after fees so thought barbers would beat that.. Lesson learned and haven't posted anything since. Bought a beat up 7070 for $20 with free shipping.. Sold for $50 after shipping fees... That was my best ebay buy/flip of the year. Then got lucky to replace that beat up 7070 with a gently used//updated from a ccf member and am now enjoying working on filling it... This erased my sellers remorse of thinking I'd never own a7070 again

This was my worst loss on a sale in 2015. I bought the 1880 O MS65 PCGS in 2014 for $181 and simply paid too much. I sold the coin in 2015 for $164 plus ebay fees because I upgraded to a MS66PL.

I try to buy everything I like, of course. Not always successful though.
