The coin collecting hobby is so vast that most of us have to specialize in certain areas.
In Which CCF Forum Sections Do You Invest Your Time?
For me I'm mainly a collector of older U.S. coins so it should be no surprise that the bulk of my posts are in the U.S. Classics section. I also regularly venture into the U.S. Paper Money, Main Coin Forum, Numismatic Crime, Precious Metals, & Ancient Coin sections. I'm starting to take to Ancients so I might be posting (or at least lurking) there more in the coming year(s).
To simplify here is a handy list:
1. U.S. Classics
(big gap)
2. Precious Metals 3. Main Coin Forum 4. Ancient Coins (Mostly Lurking & Absorbing Info)
(big gap again)
5. Numismatic Crime 6. U.S. Paper Money
I welcome everyone to post their favorite sub-forums and posting habits. Edited by Joe2007 12/30/2015 6:32 pm

Spend most of my time in US Classics, but wish that US Paper Money was more active, because that is where my main interests lie.

1. World coins and commemoratives (and its subforums) 2. ID-section 3. Main Coin section 4. PM-section And maybe there's the occational visit to the US classic section. I read almost anything in the main world coin section and I always scan the ID-forum gor anything new. Either it's something I can help out with or I can learn something new. World coin collecting is so wide, there's much to learn Then there's threads like this one (or other general questions) that I either just read or respond to. Since I am a silver nut (any silver I can get my hands on is good silver) I'm always interested in market changes or analysis that are NOT sponsored content. I love the neat feature of seeing the latest active threads below the actual posts on a pageand that's where I find most things I read. Whenever I have some boring time to kill on public transport I have a peek on CCF. Occationally I post then, butI really prefer writing for my computer rather than my phone. I usually get up early (forum time, around 12-3 AM) so the forum's a bit slow then.

There are other sections? :)
99% of the time I just look through the "View Last 100 Active Topics", and see if there is anything that catches my attention. Otherwise I might click on my name and check out my previous postings.

i always click on the canadian error and variety subforum when I enter the web site. I stay in the canadian section but tend to venutre out in the US forums a fair bit when explanation of something is needed or if I can help/contribute to the thread, I think if the canadian forums were busier I would spend alot more time in them. my least visited forum is the ancients.

I am a generalist, not a specialist. I spend all of my time across all of the CCF.
As a result, I find that in each area of speciality there are opinions to be expressed that I would consider that are more knowledgeable than my own. That is despite the fact that I have been seriously collecting for over 50 years. It is just that the total body of numismatic knowledge is so vast.
A a lot of CCF members may know, I am into most areas of numismatics that includes coins that have circulated, all eras and cultures.
As far as posting in the various areas of the CCF, I guess that it may be possible to find a post of mine in almost every sub forum of the CCF.
Probably helps to explain why my total post count is as high as it is.

I just keep the home page open, refresh and click on any New or Recent topic I'm interested in ... which seems to be many.

I think where I've had the most posts is in the Main Coin Forum, mainly in the latest "How far back can we go" thread. I've probably typed in more words in the photography section, however.

New Members daily to at least post a US Modern Coins almost daily to update the project half dollar and dollar coin threads as those are what I spend daily. Coin Roll Hunting every couple of days as that is what I do 2 days a week (used to be 4 days a week till Chase stopped taking loose coin ) Rarely US Modern Variety And Error Coins unless I find something exciting roll hunting to share. Rarely US Paper Money & Banknotes unless I get some interesting bills when dumping or if I score some $2 bills to spend on the project $2 bill thread. Rarely Precious Metals unless I pick some stuff up at the monthly coin club meeting or buy some bars or rounds. Rarely Main Coin forum except for recently for the Secret Santa thread to see what everyone got and to post updates on my pocket pieces. And every so often some off the grid stuff
