The biggest mistake I've made in the hobby is collecting Roosevelts instead of
Mercury dimes when I got into collecting. That's not to say I didn't buy any
Mercury dimes, in fact I have a well circulated collection. However I never really got into high grade examples.
Anyway curiosity got the best of me and I'm now on a journey to find AU/BU teens and twenties branch mint coins with close to FB. I also came across a circulated 36-s overdate recently. Anyway I'm having a lot of fun hunting for older
Mercury dimes. I don't think I'll purchase any 1940s coins unless I find a cool variety though as those are a dime a dozen. I love the design of the
Mercury dime and some of the early dates are MUCH more challenging than I could have imagined so this should be fun..
For any collectors out there - any tips or tricks? What did you look for when buying certified
Mercury dimes? Did you go for FB? Would love to see any favorites from your collection too!
