Jefferson Nickel "Clad Layer" Question...obv Discoloration?

So, I have come to understand that Jefferson nickels do not have a clad layer, therefor they cannot be missing one. So....what happened to the obv of this 2008 P nickel.... and how would you explain the obvious discoloration of the obverse only? Eager to learn..... THANKS!!

I only see discoloration on the reverse. Obverse looks fine.

Whoops! Mistake on my part and ty for pointing it out....was absolutely referring to the REV as far as the discoloration. My apologies for the mistype/confusion.
