Women On Banknotes

Indonesia 1960 10 Rupiah banknote with a pair of Balinese Dancers on the reverse.

An Italian 1947 500 Lire note featuring the personification of Italia plus the watermark is the head of a woman.

Is the red seal at front lower center also Italia?

Picked up a nice Canadian 1937 $2 today.

Quoting Numista: (Reverse) In the middle, an allegory of the harvest with a seated woman holding a billhook in her hand. on the left, we can see a cornucopia spilling the fruits of harvest, grapes, corn and wheat and a decorative composition. Background colour of the banknote is brown/orange.

Here on the Canadian Prairies, you never saw too many $2 bills. They were associated with 'loose women' so they were shunned.

I came across that 1980 People's Republic of China 5 Jiao note I needed to help complete my run of Chinese notes, just missing the 100 Yuan note for the full run. The women are two girls in ethnic dress representing the Miao and Zhuang nationalities.

Also, in that same packet, there was a 1962 1 Jiao note with women farm workers on the obverse. That's one thing, the Chinese don't mind showing that women are hard workers. European notes tend to accentuate women because of their beauty or individual achievements. I guess it's dependent on the philosophical bent of the government issuing the notes.

Here's a nice run of 1992 North Macedonia Denari notes with women harvesting tobacco. I have the 10, 25, & 50 notes. The 1992 100, 500, & 1000 notes also have the same reverse.
