According to the appears on the other forum, distribution of these cases performed poorly, same as the 2oz Voyageur coin (btw the coin - the hype is over, it is already not interesting any more, collects shelf wear). So better, not to wait, till all the production will be distributed, but to call the Mint and ask for free case.
Good idea - even if you not Platinum MC, just call and ask, might be the luck will be with you, and you will get it even for free.

Its a stunning case, I wonder if the silver dollar series would fit one tray and how loose they would be. Hopefully the for sale case, is the same quality. Its very similar to a case offered for Chinese lunar medallions some years ago. Everyone raved over the case, but not so much over the medallions.
Now if this type of case was offered with sets, it would be a true bonus!

"According to the appears on the other forum, distribution of these cases performed poorly". Why because some are going to sell them? I'm happy to get a freebie and it looks like a very impressive case.

Don't understand this. I'll buy yours for $400 CDN. It's still maintaining 3X issue price. Wait until the second coin release to judge.

"Hopefully the for sale case" - There are none. They are exclusive gifts to M/C members and not for sale as per RCM

I don't understand why anyone serious about the hobby, would want to sell such a beautiful case. It makes a great display for coins. They really got this one right! A beautiful display really enhances the look and enjoyment for me. Its the overall eye appeal.
Just like when I see great photos of a coin, that brings out details I have never noticed before. I fall in love with the coin even more. Some I had thought ho hum, I get a new appreciation for. Its why sharing photos is so important to these threads.

You get it automatically like the free Master of the Sky coin for the Platinum Plus customers. The Voyageur coin was different. You had to order it to get it. You can't order the MC case even if you phone in since it is a free item only to Platinum and above members.

@MoneyPenney: You right, they are different by approach of RCM. But you see, some people got the cases, for some notification has been sent, some even do not see the order online. So this is isn't new - poor delivery performance. Btw, you will laugh, but I've ordered the In Flanders Fields circulation items, the card got months ago and the pack just have been shipped. @Newbee: I speak about delivery / distro of the coin , my non mc friend just ordered one, when some Platinum MC didn't get it

Quote: If anyone wants to sell theirs at a reasonable price in the GTA area, feel free to pm me. " RCM engraved" should be available for CAD 129....could be it exactly same case with different lettering.

It would be great if they came out with this quality of case for the silver dollars. A quality case would definitely increase their profits, while adding something collectors want. I wonder when the RCM branded case will be out. Now the RCM case, is it only available to MC members, or to the general public too. I think they could do well selling cases for the long running series. I drool over a quality wooden display. Those year sets Bromberg displays in walnut cases just pop, when compared to filofilm packaging. Its like a night on the town. Its nice to dress up.

Just returned from Post office and picked up the box, it's indeed nice but have very little use, most large series already included a case, but the price is right.

Mike, I don't know how to use the quote system either, I'm not very techy. However, I am sure someone will kindly explain. There are a minimum of posts required 50-250 before having the ability to buy sell trade. Its for members safety, we want to get to know a member, before doing deals with them. It doesn't take long when participating in discussions. Have you been collecting nclt coins long. This is a very friendly and knowledgeable group here. There is another coin forum in redflagdeals, where members trade with one another, without minimum posts required. Many posters here are members over there. Its under personal finance.

Quote function:
Scroll up, just below thread title select "reply to topic". Above the reply box look up. Select the icon on the top row (Format), 2nd from the right (looks like a note with red arrow). Add a few spaces to separate the two quote codes that will automatically appear in your reply box. Copy and paste selected text in-between the two quote codes.
