have the senior/experienced members ever considered posting select coin pics and asking the rest of us to "identify" & "grade" them....

maybe as a training/experience mini-contest?

might be a fun thing to do...........

We do something similar: You might have noticed the "You vs PCGS/NGC/ANACS/IGC" threads in the "US Modern/Classic Coin Grading" forum. What we do there is take a picture of the coin in the slab without taking a picture of the grade. You then tell people to guess the grade that the TPG assigned. After some time, maybe 2 or 3 days, the OP will post the grade on the slab. Its quite fun!
Rest in Peace

There are GTG and you vs TPG topics posted quite frequently in the US classic coin grading section.

edit to add - COTW beat me to the post - well played...

As the others state, it is a quite common thing here. Usually a few graded coins up in either modern or classic US at any given time.

It would be a nice twist if the moderators posted their best coins and whoever guesses first wins it

Somewhat amusingly, I have a similar coin to Hnry's profile picture - an 1869 "Young Head" Maundy groat (S.3917) in NGC MS65; the toning is even very similar to his profile picture's.

Too funny. I'll attach a picture when I get home.
