Quote:C_C just curious do you collect any US coins, they have some beautiful coins. I've never really cared for US circulation coins and today I seldom use cash anyway (coins even less)... so no I've never collected US coins. As for US NCLT, I am not into it either. Since I'm selling off all my coins I will not start another coin collection.

Denco and Silverdon! As with @pockethange I love seeing all these actual pictures of coins instead of stock photos. I will be buying less of these than I have over the last 2 years. I need to focus on my type set and incomplete albums but I do have some "for sure" ones I will pick up.

SilverDon, your "Effigies coins" so good, I assume many of us have them, but never seen in the group, while the obverse only appears. Although mostly I like King George V on the coins, but among your pictures, the 2008 50 cents (King Edward) appears the best...looks like frosted finish was better. @Pocket_Change: I've never seen colorized coins from "The Cat" series, but the traditional proof is very nice. Btw, the series includes not only the silver coins but CuNi (same design) in parallel. Here the 2012 (silver coin): Thanks, Coinfusion, for the pictures!

Its great seeing the images, it gives some great ideas for future collecting.@ Silver Don what a great idea with using the effigy's as a set. Its interesting the different subsets collectors have started. I find the early effigies as desirable, its the side of the coin that gets forgotten about.
@Dencor the enamel dollars are stunning, I now have 3, 2007, 2010, 2015. More people need to post some of their coins, come on, we need more bragging!!

No particular theme, but whatever seems to be really good value for money in the aftermarket. Will buy silver NCLT if below bullion value, which happens rarely, but it DOES happen. My daughter does cats in copper nickel crowns. By sticking with copper nickel, she can buy them from less than $2 U.S. each, but never pays more than $5. Sometimes, I just buy and give her what I find. That's cheaper than feeding her cat!
She has about 80 World copper nickel crowns (mostly not of the cat theme), none of them would have cost more than $5.
It was Silveroid's post that inspired this one.

To be truthful I stopped collection in general in 2015. Other priorities and a boat. I did collect all of the 20 for 20 up to the 25 for 25$. I have both of the last O Canada sets and the Great Lakes set. Truth be told The cost of getting what I wanted kept me from enjoying things. So I put the mint on hiatus for now. The new government doesn't instill much faith in our currency. I'll stick to circulation finds and bullion when fancy suits me.
