This must be what is replacing the cupronickel coins. Its very affordable, and an interesting idea. The otter and fox are not over utilized themes. I would like to see what they look like in hand. The mintage is high, but I guess its a nice set for the entry level collector. Its one that wont increase in the after market due to the mintage.

Very nice and cute.
I like these.
The high mintage will help to the coins to drop in value and for CAD 100 they will be just great.

The grizzly and the otter look pretty good...the arctic fox looks like they kind of rushed it (doesn't seem as detailed). Perhaps it was the 3rd of the three to be made/designed and they were under a time crunch?

@ Silveroid: You're line of thinking is you'll be able to get all three for around 100CAD? Aren't they selling @ issue for $120 ($40/coin x 3) for the three (plus a case). Doesn't seem like you expect that much of a drop off in value. If such is the case, would it not be just as well to go for them now and snag the case with them? I'm assuming the case has a $10 value? It is hard to see what quality the case will be based on the web images.

Regarding design, I think, this is the point of it:
all the animals not much detailed , but "sketched", cause the accent not on them, but on the "dual" picture in overall.

The expectation to get it for reduced price based on the experience with the O Canada 2013 / 2014 coins (from CAD 40 they dropped to 25-30). But, right, the individual coins will drop, and maybe not full set. So if I realy interested on them, I would purchase the first coin + case for CAD 40, than cancel subscription, and pick up two other coins as singles.
But initially I said, that they are cute and I like them,
so at this stage this is not enough to buy them
will wait and see......

I have nice Arctic Fox set, and the single Fox, and enough Bears....so Otter - yes, unique....

Makes sense. I've never cancelled a subscription but I assume you don't have to return the case if you cancel after first coin? The grizzly and otter are nice enough to get now, but the fox I could cancel subscription at and not feel too bad waiting for it to come down in price to complete the set.
