Hello everyone, the top looks unusual (other than damage) and the date looks like an S but only the top loop is visible with no damage around it. Can anyone help? Thanks

From your image it looks like the mint mark (if it has one) is centered under the 4, I've included a 1941-S and a 1941-D example for comparison. Each of their mint marks are situated between the 9 and the 4. This tells me that the mark on your 1941 is a result of a die crack or PMD that left some material in that location, and your coin has no mint mark. Interesting coin though! However it does appear to have a small Cud and a die crack at the top of the coin.

I'd like to see what others think of it.

Mint marks were added to working dies by hand until 1989, so they could be almost anywhere. Between the 9 and 4 was common, but not always the case. I don't think what is on SF11Dude's 1941 is a mint mark.

The OP's coin has no MM. The area by WE looks like a die crack with die chips or maybe a lamination?
