If you look at the edge of the Romanus III you can see where it was mounted as a piece of jewelry. I think this is a copy also, though a very good one. Report this Post to the Staff

Yes Bob, I definitely am more into my uncleaned, have lots on the go at the moment, they are my hobby,but the gold ones, they are to pass down to my boy. I have 6 at the moment, haven't purchased one for over a year but I paid an average of about £230 for these, so was quite surprised when I seen ebay ones selling for nearer £500. At £230 I could be confident on them being worth at least that amount in 20 years time if my boy chose to sell rather than keep/ collect... but at £500 I'm not sure it would be. Of course one needs to be extremely careful with these as there are MANY fakes of solidi out there, including Constans II and Heraclius issues (as, I believe, we see included here). If you're not already doing so, be sure to check potential purchases against the fake reports at Forumancientcoins.com and forgerynetwork.com - and make sure to never purchase from sellers on the "NFSL" (Notorious Fake Sellers List") at Forum.
