I agree with AU-53 in terms of wear but the eye appeal is way above average. Net grading can work both ways and PCGS AU-55 seems possible. Really nice no-motto Seated quarter!

This is a tough one for me, I could see it as a 45 or a 50. Either way it is a beautiful coin.

It crossed over from an Old White ANACS holder AU50 to PCGS XF45. I don't get it either, but... You can compare the two (an AU53 and this one) 1847 25C MPD FS-301 (I made both of these BTW) http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/D...5922?redir=tThanks for playing along. I have a few more to post to "Guess The Grade."

I thought I may have been 2 points high at 55 but certainly not 10 points.

Nailed it!
Too much wear to be AU-53.
Anyways, nice coin

In this day and age of market grading I can't see how a coin like that goes 45. Must have been a bad Monday morning in the grading room. That being said, a conservative technical grade on wear alone could go as low as 45 I suppose.
