Note how the rim is moved by damage to the coin. It was a normal coin, but now it is a damaged one.

I think whatever happened to this happended very quickly, intended or not, by an extreme outside mechanical force. These marks are not hand-made.

Yep Coinfrog, just like those comet fragments that hit earth 12,800 years ago and screwed everything up for awhile :).
