Ah adobero1 don't be telling her that! She already has dibs on all the coins in circulation in the State of Indiana and NOW she is planning on winning the next contest! All of us Hoosiers will have to move just to give her storage space for her collection! We just have to make sure no one does a contest with Morgan dollars!!!

Oops, I forgot, she works at a bank! Maybe those vibes were for the Jefferson/Buffalo nickel she's gonna get tomorrow...

NO ONE in the state can actually tell you what a HOOSIER is! Lots of tall tales through the years but I like to think it was brought on by the first settlers, who's wagon broke down passing through so they had to stay, and they questioned everyone they encountered, as they knew no one in this fledgling of a state so they had to ask, in the course of the conversation, "who's your daddy" in an effort to place you! Well its apparent some how they misspelled "Who's Your" with "Hoosier" or perhaps it was hillbilly spelling back then? None the less Indiana is the Hoosier State and here in 2005 we still don't have a clue as to why and most of us will still ask, hoosier daddy?

Being a Hoosier myself I have wondered about the name as well. Below is a link that explains(sort of) what the latest theories are about the term "Hoosiers"....Mike
