Presales have been around since at least 2012, when I started collecting. A seller has 30 days in which to ship the item. I would worry the buyer cancels, once they find it for cheaper. Pre sales of nclt RCM coins took off with the 2013 glass butterfly sold by Karly Shannon. It opened the gates of controversy, as it was at least 2 weeks prior to official launch.

Just Wow, the Feb release was 3 days ago and now we have 2 pages on the March releases. No wonder new nclt coins drop so fast in prices, collectors have the attention span of a toddler. Drop todays coin, in pursuit of the next new toy . Going to quarterly releases might fix this. I'm still thinking about the January coins! My son snagged my glow wolf, its on his desk now. This forced release pace is not health for the long term. I was thinking of a couple privy coins a couple weeks back, now new ones are released, I lost interest. Its impossible to keep up with this pace. Cheaper to enjoy others pics instead!

Thanks for the members on other forum, and Coin-4-fun, who first managed to get some allocation and listed the:
2016 Canada Venetian Murano Glass - Little Creatures: Snail $20 Pure Silver Coin
It available for pre-sale.
I didn't like the coin. Not bad, but similar to "Turtle" which was "weak" edition.

If a 10,000 mintage tanks the series, how can 12500 mintage help it any? Just pure greed on RCM behalf, but if we are stupid enough to keep buying.

There's always two way of looking st things. On the topic of greed, perhaps the Pysanka has something to do with increased mintages? Look at it this way......your family is of Ukrainian ancestory and you've become aware of a RCM coin that's going to be minted to celebrate the 125th Anniverday of settlement of your descendants. You anxiously await the release of this coin on RCMs website....."awaiting order, awaiting order", then poof it's sold out! You know the selling price was $114.95 and there was to be 4,000 minted. So you check on ebay and what do you see but it's being listed for in and around $300! Wouldn't that make you wonder why the price of a coin especially minted by a Cdn Goverment Crown Corporation in honour of celebration of your Ancestry was being jacked up by private individuals, considering you were given absolutely NO opportunity to buy even one? So while it might be considered greed by RCM to increase mintages, at least that enables all consumers to buy at issue price. It also shields RCM from public innuendo regarding who's pocket they are padding and having recently gone through a federal election, we surely know how the public frowns upon that.

If you were a mc member could have ordered as many as you want, can still find a few at some Canada Post that order it Canadian Coin had it for list for over a week for VIP members at list. Almost all recent 10,000 mintage coins instantly can be bought for 30 to 40% discounts, the glass turtle turned into a turd, so how can increasing mintage for this ugly snail be anything but greed. Just my opinion, but if they cranked out 10,000 eggs, it would not have created a flipping opportunity, wait six months you will probably buy the egg for issue.

I agree it's an ugly snale. But if 12,500 are sold that indicates 12,500 consumers were interested in purchasing the product......RCM satisfying consumer demand is not greed. It's doubtful 12,000 would ever me minted in the initial go around. Even if 8,000 are minted for 8,000 consumers, seems balanced as well. Worst case scenario is if 8,000 are minted in advance and only 4,000 collectors buy, the excess likely dumped to dealers causes huge price drops. If RCM were to better manage their volume of productions along with delalers managing their orders so production and sales were more equally balanced, I think NCLT collecting would see the benefit. The only group who would not appreciate larger mintages are flippers because consumers would be given ample opportunity to purchase at issue price. That removes immediate reselling due to shortage of supply out of the equation.

Yes and consider the great public backlash to a similar situation, that of scalpers of Ticketmaster tickets. Ticketmaster is a US company but RCM is owned by our very own Canadain Government. I am simply asking others to observe from the other side....that of the ordinary person who, if they want it bad enough, is forced to pay inflated prices immediately after NCLT is issued by RCM.

Will prefer fewer releases with increased mintage the way, that everyone can buy for issue and no one will think to buy many and resell for increased price. The very low mintages (with endless releases) harms to collecting. Makes people greedy, and contributes to the idea of doing nothing, but just to speculate on reselling. Nothing wrong, again, to try to earn the money this way, when it really needed (student, part time job, disabled, need a money ... etc), but when the "regular people" running among the physical and web stores, trying to grab as much as possible of some item (by this blocking the access of others to this item), there is something wrong here. We like to outsorce the stuff...to many sellers and managers here instead of working people

I rather have lower mintages like the 4000 and have a miss opportunity ever so often than having 10,000 and almost all issues be over produced, this egg has caused the buzz needed to liven up the hobby, but I still say wait six months this coin will most likely drift back to issue, it's a limited theme like xmas coins etc. There is almost no chance the glass snail will sell out and do well in the aftermarket, pay issue 149.00 and later get it for 100, that is what's happening the last few years with RCM NCLT. I have no problem with collectors who takes a chance and bought 10 or 100 of the eggs, and are rewarded for their risk.
