To get the best response on this coin it should
be moved to the ancient coin section.

What is it's weight?
I would like to see some pictures of the edge.
Where did it come from?

This type is perhaps the most faked of ancient coins.

I enhanced your images a bit. I would like to see better pictures not in the 2x2's and an edge shot. My gut feeling though is that this is a modern fake.

I'd also suspect it to be fake. If genuine this coin would be worth a lot of money. There's so many copies of this coin floating around . Where did you aquire it?

not sure how to properly take the edge shots..let me know if this is good enough to tell if its a replica.. it doesn't seem to be fully even all the way around the edge.

I acquired the coin from my grandfather. he left behind about 10 huge binders of old world coins in 2x2's. not sure where to start so I pulled a few that looked VERY old or unique looking and decided to start some research. this site has been very helpful.

Thanks for the pictures.

Unfortunately, this coin apperas to be made from two halves, joined together or it is cast. There is a circumferential join line.
