Certainly a lot of discussion over a box. Would a wooden box be better Sure, but it would be $100-150 if you're expecting anything close to recent MC or RCM logoed boxes. The more I think about it, the more I suspect that this new specialized paperboard w/ UV technology will be similar to the boxes used for other coins such as the 2014 100/4/100 Grizzly or Eagle or the 2014 50 cent 100 Blessing coin and stamp from Canada Post. The difference though might be the addition of spot varnish or other printing techniques to give the appearance of wood. Either way, you get a decent storage box or you send it back for a refund. And for the flippers, if it turns out that the tens of thousands of people who have these coins want the box and are willing to pay for it, you could make a decent profit. Re-shipping such a bulky item though might be an issue I suppose. I just don't see the downside. Beside, I don't want a really nice box because I'm not going to put a few thousand dollars worth of semi rare coins on my coffee table for someone to get the idea that they could walk out the front door with it. I might however consider putting out a nice looking paperboard box with $400 worth of mostly dysfunctional high mintage coins.

Quote: RCM's inventory 1223pcs People loading them up. Same as everything "low-cost" by RCM - collector cards, pouch for 20for20...when it will be sold-out, people will fight for them, cause they have to store somewhere their 20for20. From numis perspective - same as "Pysanka" or "2oz Voyageur" or recent GITD coins - just fancy but profitable stuff.

Some people are getting really excited over a 30.00 paper box, I doubt many people would care about a face value coin and there are a few wooden case options out there.

Quote: Re-shipping such a bulky item though might be an issue I suppose Here is a suggestion for those that intend to flip: Place 1 order per box. eg. if buying buy 10 coin boxes, place 10 orders. This way you get a box for reshipping; just take the label off and stick yours on. MC members get free shipping and most people on this forum seem to be MC members.

Buying these to flip just seems silly to me but I'm sure someone will make money on them. Some will likely loss money on them too.

Nothing really surprises me, there are many sales of the 2016 loonie packaging error, there are literally tons of them yet they keep selling at high prices, so these boxes might sell well but again I am amazed.

Quote: Some will likely loss money on them too. How much could you lose on a $30 item? Even if you sell at issue price you will lose $5. Is not like one of those $750 gold Superman or gold Looney Tunes coins that you could lose hundreds of dollars per coin.

So, it's $42.50 with $7.99 shipping plus tax if I order from the Mint.
With less than 1200 of these left at the Mint, should we assume that dealers have been alloted a few thousand? It would be cheaper for me to order from a dealer with free shipping (just add a couple of other coins to qualify for free shipping) and only one tax.

I doubt dealers will carry this case.

While it's a nice case and all - it only holds 20 coins. I've been transferring my $$$ for $$$ to 2x2 Quadrums and using the RCM freebee from last year

But imo, do not bother by extracting coins from capsules and put to the quadrums..... just place the capsule into the slot. Or you can put the capsule into the soft insert of the quadrum capsule, while placing the insert directly to the slot.

Quote: Still, will prefer the traditional, wooden case, the old one that we had for this series... (btw - it contains 35 slots and not 20) Thanks for the info Silveroid. Much appreciated. This case looks much nicer. Also, my cost from Cdncoin for this wooden case is even less than the current RCM offering, so for me it's an easy decision.
