...And it's a 70!... And I belive 2007 is the lowest mintage year for these no?

Anyway grabbed it last week with spot at around $1245 and my winning bid after BP was $1265... I'm stoked as these go for around $200-300 over spot

Also grabbed up my first Saint too for $1350 which was only $100 over spot! And 1924 in PCGS 63 seems to go for $200-300 over spot as well. All in all I'm happy about it since I'm buying in an uptrend plus with the premiums built in since I paid less than retail it's a double score incase gold dips

Thanks guys. What I do when I want gold is to bid at spot or just above, taking bp into account, on like 6-8 coins then let it roll. Well, I got 2 this time. I would panic if I win everything but luckily that hasn't happened yet lol. Other than that you can get some great deals by "shotgun bidding" and walking away until.you get an email

Very nice! Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to find some low premium gold. Hard to afford purchasing one ounce at a time but anything smaller has hideously large premiums.

Cascade - Are you favoring gold over silver at the moment? Silver seems to be lagging gold at the moment and there is a 83 to 1 gold to silver ratio which seems to be very wide at the moment. Is silver currently undervalued or is it's status as being partially dependent on industrial demand holding it back compared to gold?

Personally I'm stocked up on silver relative to gold. And gold is in a firm uptrend while silver is not. Sure silver is moving but that's just due to gold right now. For silver to close the gap gold needs to lag while silver explodes. Or gold needs to dump heavy while silver stays stagnant. I don't see gold breaking it's uptrend any time soon. It's acting exactly as it should for the uptrend to fully continue and spot to keep gaining ground. Gold is the way to go right now period. If silver breaks $16+ and holds we may see an uptrend starting but until then gold is the better bet. Say gold breaks $1500 in a few months which is totally possible. You're gonna kick yourself for not getting some now. Now, say silver keeps bouncing in the $14-$15 range for the next few months, which is entirely possible... Which one would you have wished you bought today?

Congratulations Cascade. Those are two beauties. I tried shotgunning that GC auction on key dates and was beaten like they owned me.

Yeah mox, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The thing about shotgun bidding is the more items you bid on the more likely you'll win however you must be prepared financially incase you win more than you thought you would. I was just going for gold close to spot so I put bids in of around $1150 (as plus 10% bp would make the final bid around spot) with the saint I say ebay recent sales and figured I could go $100 over spot and be safe. Didn't think I'd win these really. I mean an ms70 gold buff for $20 over spot, come on, really!? And 2007 is the lowest mintage year too. How I won I do not know but I'm happy

Oh and fyi mox, Ian let's you make payments I believe on GC winnings. I haven't had to use this service yet but it's good to know. Ian and his GC are a true class act of a coin auction company in today's highly competitive atmosphere.

Also, did you know the seller fees are stupid low too if you wanna sell through them. Only 5% for coins hammering under $999 AND 0%, yes zero percent!, on coins hammering above $1k... there is a flat charge of I think $5-10 per coin but who cares with such low fees

Such purdy coins Cascade. I've always had a fondness for the Buffalo coins and am definitely admiring yours. Had I not bought the Liberty last year I would've probably tried to pickup a Buffalo instead.

St. Gaudens I'd love to get one day, but I'm torn as to whether I'd want to get one slabbed or non-slabbed (from someone reputable naturally if the latter). I think that purchase will likely happen one day at a coin show when one catches my eye and it "chooses me".

Nice Buffalo!
2008 was the year with the lowest mintage also highest in prices, and is the only year with fractional coin set.
