I would not sell it at this show. I've been to the Bay State Show 4 or 5 times. While it is a lot of fun with some great dealers I think something this uncommon warrants exactly the treatment Coop suggests. It was tough for me to sell a 1925 Canada Nickel (AU)( a much more common key date) at this show last year....had two dealers, who had primarily Canadian coins, tell me "nobody wants these"'......really?

Quote: I would have it slabbed by PCGS and list it on Heritage coins. That would be the route I would do on this coin. Do I remember a comment a while back that Heritage would have the coin slabbed at PCGS for you? That would sound easy if it is true.

Being a rookie I appreciate the advice from you two and I am in the process now of filling out paperwork to be sent out. I will keep you updated on my process if you would like to be included and see where this road takes me! Godbless

That would be great so I should just call Heritage and what consign or just sell it to them?

Wow! Very nice find. This is the second confirmed 1992 CAM that has been posted here at CCF from your area Cape Cod, MA. Interesting. Let me see if I can find the first post. If any mods or members could help, thank you.

The two reverse pics sure don't match up very well. Did you post the wrong one ?

I think only 2 have been found - in upstate NY and your profile does match a better location of finding one in the northeast

Pardon my intrusion on this thread.. but what exactly are we looking at here? Obviously not well versed in CAM's or VAM's... just a canuck that's very intrigued and want's to learn a little more..

Hi Ag - in 1992, the proof reverse was used for business strikes which places the M in AMERICA close to the A. Instead of A M E, we have AM E. In the OPs pictures, you can see that the M is next to the A. This is a rare find. There are also 1992D "CAM" cents, but the 1992 are the rarer of the two. Thank you Rackster! I can totally see that!
I don't get many U.S. cents here.. as I CRH... but any that I do get I just put aside.. in hopes to learn a bit about the varieties when I have a change to go through them!

You bet! I do the same with the Canadian cents I find. WAMs are more prevalent, but a specimen like the OP's; an epic find!
