Excellent!! I did stumble across the other medals online with a different obverse. I just couldn't find this particular one. Are these medals rare? Any ideas on approximate value? I just think it is such a great design & a well preserved piece.
It shares the same obverse as Douglas 49 except it lacks 1789 at the 6:00 position.
The 2nd edition of the book mentioned in my initial post lists it as R6 (approximately 20 to 74 known) and a value of $300 in UNC condition. I will add that this book was published in 1998/1999 so this information may have changed.
The original poster must be happy with the ebay auction this medal sold for $335.53 including shipping. I was bidding on it for a while and backed off. Congrats on the sale.
