I guess it really is a matter of personal taste. And as you say, taste can change over time. I am just trying to get a handle on what characteristics CAC finds favor with, or disfavor with for that matter. I too don't care for blast white coins, but many do.

CAC likes original coins with eye appeal that are high end of the grade that have market appeal. CAC does not sticker a lot of blast white MS Morgan's(maybe because of the being dipped), but if the coin is really nice for the grade they will sticker. Below are two examples that I submitted to CAC a blast white and a rainbow that received a sticker.

I appreciate a good ol' CAC sticker. Most of my coin purchases are done over the Internet as my LCS' closed up long ago. As many know, the images on coins have a lot to be desired in many instances. Having a coin slabbed and, especially with, a CAC sticker on them helps confirm that the coin I'm purchasing will be a decent one.

I've been doing this long enough that I don't need a coin graded for me or someone to say a particular coin is especially nice for the grade so the TPG and sticker isn't always necessary but it does help with electronic commerce.

The internet changed things for the better and worse in this hobby. More coins are accessible but the trusted mom and pop shops don't seem as relevant anymore. That's for another thread though...not this one.

These two coins are both CAC: a heavy toner and a blast-white example.
