Pete,

Although I do not know you, I am sending my support to you. Cancer in any form or stage is an eye opener... cancer coming back is an even bigger one. So for what its worth from a guy who has had 3 unrelated types and all the "fun" that goes with them, stay strong because brother you can are not alone in the fight. Certainly you are the point man in your battle, but you have a world of support behind you.
God bless,

Scott

Thanks, Scott - and everyone for your support!

The last 3 1/2 months have been exhausting. I have now completed 37 Radiation Treatments, 2 quarterly injections of Lupron (an Androgen Deprivation Drug - $1,500/ injection) and one injection of Prolia (for Osteopenia). I am experiencing muscle weakness and finding it difficult to walk. My incontinence is worse - back to where I was just after my surgery. Hot flashes/chills have made their appearance and are disrupting sleep. I have been through a time of severe Urinary Tract Infection necessitating 2 visits to the ER and learning how to self-catheter.

I am doing better now and I am planning a road trip with my wife of 53 years. My wife calls the trip our "swan song" but I am not ready to give in to that thinking just yet - although it has crossed my mind!

We are headed for Wyoming. We live far enough in South Texas where it will take us 2 days just to get out of the state! Maybe I will post a photo or 2 like the following from a previous trip.

Have a great trip Pete and keep the A/C on in the car. I was just over in the panhandle and it was 104° F. Looking forward to some more pics!

Now that's tough.

Enjoy the trip. Remember, eat and drink whatever you want.

You're the man, Pete! Although scopru has been through the wringer quite a bit, he's still ticking!

My move is over and I am licking my wounds. Tried to break my ribs and wash-boarded my shin. Yeah, think of the first sign language you ever learned.

LIVE IT LARGE! Enjoy your trip. 53 years? You have 15 over us!

We cut our vacation short and returned early. I was totally exhausted and was ready to come back. We still drove over 4,200 miles. I took lots of photos. Here are a few:

Sandhill Cranes at Sunset:

My-Cancer-Has-Returned.

A view from the back patio of our room. Sunset was enhanced from billowing smoke from a fire which was expected to burn for over 2 months.

My-Cancer-Has-Returned.

This is a treasured photo and will only be appreciated by bird lovers. We have wanted to see one of these Red Crossbills for years! If you look closely, it is possible to see the crossed bill.

We watched this Grizzly swim the river.

Beautiful pictures Pete. Glad to have you back, hope you are doing okay.
At first glance, I thought that was a two headed bird in the first pic....

I took a neat photo of one of the storms in our area this morning. Making a capture like this cheers me.
