Here is my first Draped Bust Half Cent. I am not a copper collector. I selected her for the price and nice original surfaces. I've seen this coin priced all over the place. I think it is a fine example. I recently took it to a dealer who said there was damage on the reverse on the "200". I told him if there was damage it never would have straight graded. Why do some dealers try to pull one over on you even though there is nothing wrong with a coin? His offer was 120.00 I wasn't selling, I just wanted to know what he thought. I love the coin.

I can't see damage on your coin in the picture, but I would like to add that that's not always the case. Earlier this year, at a show, I saw a really nice 1857 half that I liked that was in a straight graded PCGS EF-45 slab. The obverse looked good, but I turned it over and there was a big, deep gouge on the reverse. I probably would have bought it if not for that. IMO there's no way it should have been straight graded, but apparently someone at PCGS thought otherwise.

I tried uploading the other two photo's I had but they are too big. One shows the reverse pretty good. But I don't see any damage. Damage to me means you can see it, it's non-negotiable. There is nothing wrong with this coin imo.

This is one of my favorite threads on CCF! I can't believe how annoying I used to be (wait...I still am). I recently purchased these: Both are pretty ugly, but they were cheap. Please note, these are the sellers images.

Just received the 1804 5 minutes ago. The date is very bold, compared to first image!

1818 Capped Bust Half DollarThis coin has edge lettering. 1818 50C O-108 has the breaks in the tops of the 8`s in the date and die trails on the stars on the obverse and legend die trails on the reverse. Thanks Johntookit.

Wow! Absolutely incredible! Thats weird. The pictures in my above post weren't supposed to be of a Half Cent...they were supposed to be of an 1804 large cent. Oh well.
