Here's a reference from my 42/41 D, I have sold my previous one graded by NGC F-15. It took me looking through about 3-4 thousands before locating one, other are luckier and find it in their first batch. This one is in my 3rd loose binder Mercury dime, error and varieties album.

Quote: still hunting for the 1941/42 D @ MAC1971 ....Instead, try looking for a 1942/41-D Seriously though, don't give up the hunt. Inevitably, these rare varieties and errors can and do slip into bag lots. Last year, I bought a 1794 Half Cent from a dealer who cherried it from a few pounds of world coins .... stuff happens! A few years ago, I bought a 1793 wreath cent from a jewelry store for $30. Keep up the hunt, as you never know what's around the corner!
