Just the fact that a board for 100 of them measures just 9x9 cm tells you a lot about their size...

Almost forgot about this one: Still stumbling through ancient Chinese coinage, but I am led to belive that this coin is called a "goose eye" Wu zhu, open to various interpretations as being cast in the 1st century BC, or during the catastrophic currency reforms of Wang Mang, 7-25 AD. The inscription wu zhu was supposed to guarantee the weight of the coin at 5 zhu, or equivalent to 500 grains of millet. These coins were usually about the size of a quarter, albeit with a hole.

Lots of cool coins, folks. Thanks for sharing. This one's not excessively tiny (15 mm, it's sitting on a dime for reference) but I don't think we've had any of these in this thread yet. The Russians have controlled Finland on and off over the centuries, with one of the longest stretches from 1809-1917. The Diet of Porvoo gave Finland considerable autonomy, and they even kept their own money instead of switching to rubles and kopeki. But the coins were still issued by the tsar, and bore his monograph (albeit a different monograph than the one featured on contemporary Russian coins); this one was Alexander II.

I've posted these in a few forum threads.. They are what I had left over when I stopped selling coins in 2006.. Around 2001 when ebay had gone Global, I purchased thousands of error coins from India in 500 & 1,000 coin lots.. After 2 or 3 large purchases, the seller offered me some 17th Century Gold Fanams of India for around $4. each (that I would turnover for $6-8 each.. At the same time I was buying and selling scrap Gold & Silver, and tested the Gold Fanams with my Electronic Gold Tester.. Each piece tested at 14kt..

Here's another samll communist coin, barely making the cutoff at 17 mm... East Germany 1 Pfennig, 1968-A Interesting fact: on German coins, the "A" mintmark normally stands for Berlin, but on East German coins, the "A" mintmark was used for coins minted in Leningrad.
