I have found over 700 of this variety and none have shown any sign of a chip/crack forming on the "2". Just wondering what the heck this is. Thank you for your help

It looks like a struck through debris that has moved to it current location. It was on the upper right side of the 2. Note a die issue, but a striking issue with some metal struck onto the coin.

Oops! I should have read the full description more carefully. it would be phenomenal if over 700 coins took a hit in the exact same spot. Thanks for the explanation Coop

When I saw pic 3 I thought die chip then I saw pic 4 and thought struck through. The tail laying on top of the two makes it a struck through. If the tail was not there I would think it was a die chip.Does this make sense (coop)?

The first clue to me was the shape of the struck through. It was too perfect. I ruled out chip as it was one of 700 he mentioned. There would be a lot of them with chips if it were a chip. (probably all of them because the same dies would have struck them all)
Also seeing another example a while back helped a lot also.
