How about a forum where members can place a few items up for auction to other members similar rules as the buy sell trade should keep it safe. Members could decide how long to run their own auctions and what their reserves are, both clearly stated at the begining of the auction. Just an idea. A lot of us have small items that are just not suitable for ebay and I think it would increase the sense of fun in the comunity

Richard, I think this is a great idea, but I'm a little concerned with the administrative aspects of it in regards to setting up webpages (the html could be tricky) and monitoring it. Susan and Bobby already have a lot on their plate although I suppose someone could be appointed auction moderator vis a vis WINS auctions. I have a fair number of mostly non-US coins which I have not gotten around to listing on ebay (e.g., Vietnam, Cochin, Chinese) which might inspire me to list them here, especially for our beginning collectors.

I could be way off base here, and if Iam I am sure that I will be told so !!
But I dont see anything in the Buy,Sell, trade rules that would prohibit an auction style sale of a coin !! Just list it forsale that way !!

You know Rick I think you are correct. An auction is after all a delayed sale with self determined price. lets see if the list mommy will agree

I think this will work very well in the B/S/T section. There is a new section in there for coin auctions and I posted some rules (like everything else, they are designed to protect our members). If any of you think of anything that should be added, please email me at susan@coincommunity.com. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?FORUM_ID=60Have fun!

Wow I just saw the forum page and, its great. I like the idea of a auction unlike ebay were I do not stand to loose money (every) time I sell somthing. Many times profit is 3 dollars listing fees and other fees eat it all up.
