If I were to have gotten a nickel for the number of times the question is asked on forums "how much is it worth" I would probably have lots of nickels

Yah ... but what would those nickels be worth

While the internet may have brought more coins to the market place, it has also brought more collectors. Personally I think it may even be keeping keeping the hobby (and prices) a float.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this fits in with the topic or not...

But for years I have been going into elementary schools and promoting coin collecting by doing classroom talks and handing out coins to kids... the kids love it and hopefully that will stimulate them to get involved in the hobby...

Have a Great Day!

Topic near and dear to my heart. I'm winding down and will soon have what I have left sold and out the door but not without sad remorse I'm sure, cant get the grandkids interested, my son gave it up, a brother got taken in by a bad guy selling him a load of counterfeit USA coins and still refuses to discuss his stupidity. The hobby will endure but its not the same atmosphere these days, its a big business and not for any newcomers without a deep pocket if ypu want the high end stuff, don't have to venture out to any LCS its all on the net. Ive had some fun in my later years but nowhere near the thrill of what it was like as a teenager. The big wakeup is trying to get a return back on the money spent, I was advised by more wiser members on this forumn not so use the word investment and that is indeed good advice it helps take the sting out of the losses.
