So Andrew, is your house still for sale?

Just think, 200 years ago people used to walk around with these things in their pockets and never gave it a second thought.

I'm very impressed by this set, and forgive my understatement.

Andrew a beautiful set; nothing short of awe inspiring.
I especially enjoyed the 1800 variety segment - very educational. Is there something here on CC that illustrates major varieties for other year early dollars in a clear and concise manner and with pictures so that a complete layman like me can understand? If not perhaps an external source? I've referenced PCGS's coinfacts for variety but I am unable to follow easily.

Cableguy, stay tuned to this thread as I complete them all. I will post this, final entry to 1795 dollars. Earlier in this thread is a 1795 Draped Bust Centered, and a 1795 Draped Bust Off-centered. The thread started with a Flowing Hair 1795 3 leaves on reverse under eagle's wing. My last variety to finish 1795 is this two leaves under eagle's wing. If you want to learn about early dollar die varieties, buy Reiver's book on the subject. It is essentially a redo of Bolendars book which was last printed in the '80s, but has higher quality pictures.

Thanks for a point in the right direction you Andrew; I will look into the book. Any good online sources?
Also if I recall through my readings there is a silver plug variety in the 1795 subset. Do you have one of those?
Oh and of course that is a very lovely 2 leaf example. I like the even tone.

You know, you're right. There is a silver plug. This is not properly a die variety as the silver plugs cut across all Flowing Hair die marriages in 1795. I have not considered that part of the set as it is an example of early mint process, like adjustment marks.

That is a gorgeous 1795 flowing hair dollar Andrew, perhaps my favorite from your collection. I love it!

Working on 1799 varieties and the overdate with the two reverse die marriages I consider major. This is the 13 star variety on the reverse. There is a variety where they made 2 too many stars on the reverse, then pumped up the 1st and last clouds to try to hide the mistake. They didn't do a great job of it, hence the 15 star variety.

This is a collection I can only dream about.
I don't have the knowledge to build one, but I can admire the effort you're going through.
