You never know what is going to come into the shop next. You know what I mean....

Morgans Dad

Sounds like you know how it is. Some days there are some
really amazing things come in ... I just wish I could
afford the really nice stuff that comes in.

I am also amazed how some of the customers can come in with
stacks of cash to buy stacks of high end coins. Some days I
get to thinking I have a nice collection going ...
But then I see what the really big boys have and are buying.

I know we all must be happy with are own level of collecting.

I do hope I can help motivate others in setting their collecting
goals. I feel if I can build a ...OK collection .. then others
can too.

Keep up the collecting, PS, Good luck on the 500 coin box of Peace and Morgan dollars too

I know that will be a big challenge. One that will take
several years to complete .. because I can never stay
focused on one series/project to long. I do have about
100 Morgan and Peace dollars that are not in albums ..
So I guess I do have a start ... maybe I should skip the
Half dollars and go for the dollars.

Thing is, no matter how much you have, someone has more. The best you can do is collect the things that have eye and hand appeal to you.

Very nice bro....

Sometimes it makes me sad to see these things though, since I had to sell most all my junk silver...also had to sell.....Silver Washington Dansco....dimes.....most Morgans in my Dansco...most Peace dollars.....Ike Dansco....Dansco Proof/Silver Proof State Quarters albums....1914-D Lincoln.....both ASE Anniversary sets, (one graded/slabbed set)..and many other things...sigh.

But, after seeing your collection and treasure chest (Jbuck too)...it kind of revitalizes me too...still, with a budget of 2 cents a year for coins...it's hard man...

I too love seeing GR's collections. The 500 silver dollar box will be a challenge, but it can be done. Focus and commitment will be required, of course. Still, it's as good a goal as anything else. Good luck!

Your posts are always a pleasure to read, GR58 --- and the photos,

Most of my junk silver is in ziplock bags. I may take a page out of your book and put them in tubes to clean things up. Though I certainly don't have the need for a box just yet!

@GR58, this may be a silly question, but why is the quarter box of silver only 10 rolls (=$100 face)?

Your dime box is 50 rolls (= $250 face). It seems to me that your silver quarter box "should" be at least 25 rolls, like the boxes with rolls of State Quarters.

I fully approve, by the way, of nice boxes full of coins! There is something neat and satisfying about that.

Good question ..... Not sure if I have a good answer.

My dime box did start out as a 20 roll box ($100 face)

Picked-Up-38-Silver-Washington's,-Quarter-Box-Is-Full

Not sure what I switched to the 50 roll box .. but I like it.

The State/ATB quarters are 50 roll boxes. Maybe someday I
will switch to a 50 roll silver roll box. But I do like the
10 roll quarter boxes .. so might do multiple 10 roll boxes. The $100 face boxes will fit into Bank SDB better.

The 50 roll boxes are great for State Quarters. I put the
"P" mints in one box and "D" mint in the another. For the
ATB Quarters I have 3 boxes .. third one for "S" mints.
