Biokemist6 said this in another thread https://goccf.com/t/253405. I agree. If methanol, isopropanol and water make up the other 0.5% then you're fine. If the formulation contains other compounds, or if a manufacturer is unwilling to divulge the other components, then it's a risk.

You can't go by the SDS range, you can put any range you want and claim it as a "trade secret" under HazCom 2012. To get the true analytical purity, you have to look at a COA (Certificate of Analysis) which most suppliers/manufacturers will give to you if asked.

Most commercial acetone will be >99% which is fine for coins. Stay away from nail polish remover and such, as it has added ingredients. Acetone is produced easily and at a high purity, commercial/consumer grades are good enough for us collectors.
