While I have a few U.S. coins from 1899, I thought I'd share this 2 kopeks from Russia. Thanks for reviving this old topic, it's been interesting!

One of my more bizarre pieces is this Russian Rouble (Bought long before you know what!) This coin in Fine condition is quite thick (3mm and 34mm in size) and the inscription apparently says "Nikolai II, Tsar and Autocrat of all the Russias" - being under control is nothing new in this part of the world. Finally a very worn Belgian 50 cent coin in Flemish script. Being 50 cents of a Franc in the Latin coin union, its the size of an old sixpence!
