Blank Quarter Found...looking For Info

goosecove New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 06/01/2016 11:02 am Hello, new to forum, so please excuse the ignorance. Found this in a roll of quarters from my bank. I am not a collector, but I found this blank coin, and was hoping to find more information about it. I guess it could be a fake made to fool vending machines, but that seems like more trouble than its worth. Looks like a punch out tab from an electricity junction box. Used to find these as a kid and draw my own "coin" designs on them using a marker. Report this Post to the Staff

This is definitely not a USA blank coin (called a planchet) because USA coins are not magnetic. However it could be a Canadian blank Planchet, but we need weights and measurements to confirm. Most likely this is just a piece of steel that someone put in to cheat the bank out of 25 cents. Report this Post to the Staff
