Quote: Just found this one. Does Albrecht Daniel Thaer count? As a pioneering agronomist (one who applies scientific priciples to agriculture), it's hard to see on what basis he ought to be excluded. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrecht_Thaer

You are right of course. I posted in a hurry, but now that I think of it, there's really hardly any doubt

Yet another note featuring Nikola Tesla, this a Yugoslavia 5 Million Dinar (issued in 1993 during that disintegrating country's hyperinflation episode). Of additional interest is that on the back a Tesla coil is shown in operation.

This topic is right up my alley. This is my main focus, and actually prefer collecting Tesla notes. I don't currently have pictures, but I will try posting a bunch of photos of my collection in the future.

As a scientist myself... I loved seeing the banknotes in this thread...
Beautiful banknotes, thanks for sharing.

Fascinating subject I have a number of notes of famous and less well known scientists which I hope to post shortly. However for the moment I would like to show this Israeli note depicting a scientist at work but I have been unable to find any reference as to who he is. If anyone can help I would be obliged.

This note is from the Second Series. All those notes had a generic person(s) representing something: Fishermen - science - labour etc.. The First series has references to places. The Third and Fourth had real people on them.
So I am not sure you will get a specific person as an answer.
