..they are gamblers lured into gambling by the words used by the sellers implying the rolls might contain valuable coins.

or family members of collectors thinking they're buying a good gift...

I was looking a roll of "unsearched" Wheaties on E-Bay and the seller stated that all rolls were guaranteed to contain all S mints. I emailed the seller and asked if they are unsearched how can he know that the Wheaties were all S mints, His response was that previous buyers stated that all 50 wheats were indeed all S mints. Me being the skeptic that I am I asked if his family or friends were buying his rolls and leaving positive feedback and stating "key dates or semi key dates" found in rolls. No response after that.

There was someone on the US forum who got a BU 1909 S VDB from one of these rolls. Problem is, it was copper plated zinc. Complete fabrication; not even a heavily tooled original.

I guess if people are dumb enough to buy the rolls, they're dumb enough to believe that it's real.

Guys
I actually met one of these individuals from Craigslist, he buys wheat pennies and silver paying $0.06 each wheatie and 70% on melt value.
Takes as much as he can get.

Sold him over $120 of wheat pennies best $720 ever made on 40's - 50's, nothing older and no S mints.
He keeps asking when I will have more.

This is still and ongoing scam on E-bay . The sad thing is I'm still seeing a lot of bidders falling for these con artist's . Looks like E-Bay will never put a complete stop to this kind of deceiving .
These sellers remind me of drug pushers , even if the burnt newbies stop buying from them ,there will always be new ones coming into the hobby and falling for their scam infested listings .
