In the immortal words of Pillar of the community Crazyb0,this came from someones collection into mine. Went to the big box store with the big W & on way out stopped at their bank & picked up $5 in pennies. they are always nice & have been getting good stuff from them. 3 week ago 8 40's pennies.

Today just one coin, but a 1910-P and in great shape. Obvious that it has been circulating a bit before I found it. My question to you guys, why does the rim look like that ? Is this a cleaned coin? I just took it out of the wrapper about 5:25pm & was thrilled when I found it, took the photo minutes ago. thanks to all.

Well thank you, glad someone on this forum seems to appreciate what I say. It appears based on the condition, this coin has some "loose roll" or coin jar contact of rims rubbing. That just takes the crust off, doesn't look cleaned really. Might rinse with acetone and clean water to remove any loose surface crud. Nice in a wild find, now get a semi-key! WooHoo!

The edge and the centers of a Coin usually display circulation rub first. Very neat wild capture.

But please don't encourage Mr. Crazy. He drives us (his name) enough already

Nice catch!

I agree with trying acetone and distilled water to try an loosen some of that gunk. It's worth a shot.
