1936 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES held at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany German World War Two Era ULLR Nordic Ski Badge Good Luck Medal ULLR is Norse God / Patron Saint and Protector of Winter Sportsmen Two-piece construction. Measures 1 1/2" High X 1 1/8" Wide. Black and red enameled Garmisch-Partenkirchen Coat of arms on obverse. The shield shaped Coat of arms features the famous Habsburg spread-winged eagle done in black over silver on the left half, and the historical royal insignia of Bavaria done in red over silver on the right half. The Town's name is inscribed, on the base piece, above the embedded Coat of arms. The town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany hosted the 1936 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES. Reverse illustrating the Norse god Ullr, known for his skill in archery and skiing, often considered to be patron god of archers and skiers, dressed in winter wear with skis on his feet, an archer's bow in his right hand, an arrow in his left hand, inscribed "ULLR" below. Surrounded by the inscription "Wintersportler (Winter Sportsman) Schutzpatron (Protection Patron)".

Great Britain 50p depicting Athletics - issued in 2011 for the London 2012 Olympic Games   This coin was designed by a nine-year-old girl called Florence Jackson, who won a competition organised by the Children's TV programme 'Blue Peter'. 19,751 coins with this design were struck as NCLT issues with the date 2009, and 2,224,000 were issued dated 2011 as part of the Olympic 50p circulating commemorative programme.
