Coin has some very unique toning, dark with colors of bronze, purple, and copper shinning through when moving under a light. To me a very attractive antique look, which I find appropriate for a 127 year old coin. There is definite wear present and I have some concerns about previous cleaning. What you say?

AU-58 for minor circulation wear, luster seems subdued but coin has great detail.

The luster looks a little weak, but I think given how minimal the wear is it should still go AU-58. Nice looking coin.

Agreed with 58. And the toning is market acceptable

Thanks all for your help with the Morgs I posted. I don't post that much other than asking for assistance. But I have only been at this for over a year and don't have that much to offer. I am getting there and hopefully will have more to offer in the near future. Great forum, Great peeps and Well operated. If I'm correct this is post # 100!

Scratch on face of Lady Liberty. If it were dipped in E Zest it would have more eye appeal. It depends on how much you paid. You can get this coin in MS64 for $90 in a slab. I personally don't like dark toning on a coin that should have some luster. I got an 1899-S but no pic. Sorry bout dat. It was slabbed and graded at AU50. I find no good deals on the more scarce Morgans that are in AU50 and above online. I paid $140 for it. Too much but it was slabbed and graded. I just won't buy these coins online unless they are in a slab. I will get a camera but first must ransom my first born son from hands of ISIS. Oh, let him find his own way home I will get the camera.

Slider - leaning toward AU-58 but might make MS-62 with a nice grader
