Sylvanus Thayer - Joseph Kiselewski Designer/Sculptor  Thayer (1785-1872), a graduate of the Military Academy at West Point, served in the US Army within its Corps of Engineers where he achieved the rank of Major. He was appointed as the 5th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy in 1817; he was appointed by President James Monroe. His reorganization of the Academy's curriculum made West Point into the first College of Engineering in the United States and earned him the nickname/title of "Father of the Military Academy." The West Point Association of Graduates presents a Slyvanus Thayer Award annually:
Since 1958, the West Point Association of Graduates has presented the SYLVANUS THAYER AWARD to an outstanding citizen of the United States whose service and accomplishments in the national interest exemplify personal devotion to the ideals expressed in the West Point motto: DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY.
Cardinal Spellman received the award in 1967.

Walter Reed - Abram Belskie Designer/Sculptor  Reed (1851-1902) was a US Army surgeon who is most remembered for the discovery of the cause of yellow fever - female Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes; Major Reed was the Chairman of a four-member team of infectious disease specialists who conducted the groundbreaking research beginning in 1900.

Not that I'm aware of, but It would be great if someone knew about one and shared the info! The American Numismatic Society has a MACO Archives page from which you can access PDF files that illustrate many of the hundreds of medals produced by MACO over the years - but the listings do not include mintage figures.
