Paul Jennewein Designer/Sculptor American Samuel Finley Breese Morse (1791 - 1872) was an inventor and painter. He is most famous for his invention of the electronic alphabet ("dots and dashes") that bears his name - Morse Code; Morse was assisted by Alfred Vail who actually made multiple improvements to Morse's base system.
