a google search turned up several possibilities, but the one that appears to match is about the Nixon Tapes: 1973 with John Mitchell as the former Attorney General.

I agree with you about Mitchell, but I will admit that when watergate happened or even afterward historically I didn't pay any attention to it I guess the lettering above the door and exit sign might have a more important meaning to somebody that is a political junkie. When listening to politicians, I always remember something a wiseman told me "God had a plan when he had lawyer, lips, and lying all start with the letter L! Since most are politicians are lawyers if their lips are moving they are lying!

The letters "CRP" over the door represented the Committee to Re-elect the President, refereed to as "creep" in those days.

I've always liked the look of those irradiated dimes. I've liked them more every time I've seen them.
I may just have to add a couple of those to my 17 want list.

The irradiated dimes sell for $10+on ebay. A nice historical relic. Incidentally, they lost all their extra radioactivity within minutes of being irradiated, so they were safe to give back to the public.

Quote: Any idea when it was irradiated and encased. I'm still looking for one from the 1964 world's fair. Quote: but one report suggests that it was between 1949 and 1967. By then something like 1 million dimes had been irradiated. The end of the program was brought about in 1964 when they stopped using silver in U.S. coins, at least the small denomination coins. In 1965, they started making the dimes out of nickel clad copper. For a time, the Museum purchased rolls of dimes from the local banks and separated out the silver containing dimes in an effort to keep the program going.
