Congrats to people who wanted this coin and their order will not be cancelled by CP.
For others - you haven't lost a thing. CC&C overstoked with these - no one buys for CAD 999 and the dealers have the trouble to sell the subscription. Not far the time that these nicely designed coins will return to issue price and below. I thought initially, that the coin will be priced ~CAD 900, but didn't take in account availability of the subs, that influences on the singles as well.

I agree with you Silveroid. CC&C priced themselves out, I cannot see how they can justify the $1000 price tag when the same exact coin can easily be gotten near issue or just a tad above.

It's a marketing tool for CCC to force people to buy subs, which if they commissioned, they have half the sets, now with increased mintage and the obvious lack of interest from previous sub buyers for some of the reasons mentioned earlier.

@Silveroid, Right on as usual. I thought the Goose coin would go high as $1000. Looks like I am wrong. I did not take into account the large amount of coins available outside of the RCM.

Looks like the Colville Goose has stabilised at $679.95 at Colonial Acres and The Coin Shoppe. Limit of one.
Gatewest is slightly cheaper atm at $659.95 plus $6.50 shipping. Also limit of one.
Dealers still offering the Penny Set at issue price minus any discounts.

If anyone is still looking for a Colville Goose coin, Colonial Acres just dropped the price to $629.00.

It's still early for these coins.
I'd expect this coin to slowly creep up as it is the first in the series.

There won't be any movement upwards until the dealers run out of the goose coin. No sign of that happening any time soon. The RCM again misled collectors with the quick sell-out when dealers had plenty of stock. The first in the series mean nothing now. Those who really wanted the coin already bought it.

It is but it isn't. The mintage has been increased 30% from the 2015 Big Coin Series, 1500 to 2150. In my opinion, the increased mintage has created the excess. There's a greater likelihood the Goose mainly appeals to NCLT 5oz collector sector because of the large price and size. And guessing the average age of avid NCLT collectors to be much younger than the typical circulation collector, but how much does a NCLT collector care about paying $$$ for a series issued only on Canada's 100th birthday before they were born? In my opinion there's a reason for what appears to be low mintage. And it's to meet what's known will be limited demand. However I'm happy that anyone who chooses to collect this series is able to purchase it close to issue price:-) There's more to collecting than how much money flippers can make.

Mintage is always important, but talking to a few collectors who purchased the first big coin series, we didn't bite on this one due to one major worry that the RCM will immediately create a colour version, if that happens, there would be 4300 sets and there isn't that many collectors plus there was a lot of buyers dreaming this goose coin alone could be flipped for over 1000 bucks, can't get any premium until the official dealers are sold out of sets.

John, good point, the coloured. And 2016 collectors of that type might also be holding off, awaiting a coloured commemorative. 4300 sets is a considerable increase from 3000. I think RCM should just lay out what 150th/50th commemoratives are planned in advance. Instead their secrecy invites caution.

I received mine too today. Stunnnnnnnnnnning! The one in the wooden box for subscription. The goose in its own packaging was shipped via Canada Post yesterday. I await its arrival. So, I guess I will have 2 of the 2150 issued;))))))
