@commems

I totally agree with your post above. Logic rules. You just can't please everyone. People complain about wanting a box to hold series and now people complain because they want individual packaging for each coin.

Why one would collect only the dollar in this series defies most logic it's part of a rather expensive set either you like them all or not, the only reason I'm waiting is the good chance the greed would force the RCM to immediately do a colour version. I am almost sure one of the large coin supply places has a 5 oz. holder for about 5 to 10 bucks

The reason someone wants the Goose Coin is for resale. My guess. This is a series that needs to be collected in whole.

That is why so many talk about the resale value of this coin as well as the big coin penny. I always try to get the whole collection or nothing. Just an opinion.

I have 6 empty 5oz holders from my previous set if anyone is interested in. The outer box will be the original 5oz gold plated set. I will put them up for sale on my store if there is a demand for them.

Serious question guys, if I'm not VIP at CC&C or hidden levels of platinum, what are the odds of getting this series at RCM price?

this is what provides the most disgruntled members of this and the other forums. The RCM doesn't expect everybody to try to sell their coins after receiving them. They expect people to collect them - themselves.

NCLT is not a necessity of life and RCM's issue pricing is already quite costly.

It was a wise move to market the Big Coin sets as a package deal. Imagine how frustrating it would to attempt to collect the full six individually if one or two of them were scooped up in advance, for resale at a hefty premium.

At some point in time RCM needs to fine tune it's MC program so that it balances with respect to the coin collecting community as a whole.

Me too, By this set being mainly sold as a subscription series, I think that RCM has increased its appeal.

@John100: The Mint will not do a coloured version after the gold-plated version is finished. The 4 month window from August 2017 (when the last 1967 big coin series coin is released) to December 2017 is too short for a coloured series to be introduced and by that time 2018 coins would start coming out... the 150th anniversary would have long passed.

So true @ CoinCanuck94

There will probably be something else but not a big coin series.

This is the Big Coin Series for 150th anniversary.

RCM will not churn out another for this anniversary.

I'm sure good ole Steve will be selling this set on the shopping channel(Coin Show)on Wednesday at 8PM for cost and you will probably be able to get it on 6 easy pays or close to it.

if Bromberg sells this on shopping channel, you are best to look at it first thing in the morning on the shopping channel website. For sure a sellout if he only sells the single.

Don't forget that this was Steve's idea and I'm sure he probably has half or more of the sets reserved for the shopping channel. I didn't even get an email from RCM and I am an Masters Club PLATINUM PRESTIGE member. I so happen to check the RCM web page and noticed the One dollar 5 oz coin available but not the whole set. Was ticked off, but managed to get 4 one dollar coins.

What stops them from having the coloured version already designed and ready to go, never thought they would be stupid enough to do a colour version on the original big coins and basically strangle that series, the RCM is only interested in sell, sell, sell.
