Hello all,

I picked this up at a coin convention yesterday and I'm wondering what the grade of the coin is. There is some nice cartwheel toning around the edges.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

I'll lead off with a solid 64.

I'd say MS-63 due to marks on the cheek and neck.

the reflective light may be hiding signs of wear particularly in the eagle wing tips breast and neck. any way you can get a closer pic of that area without the light reflection. right now it could be AU58 or MS64 as already stated. I'm leaning towards the 64 but would like to see some better pics. head on not angled.

Hey everyone,

Thank you all for your comments! I'm sorry that I haven't replied sooner, this past week was quite busy for me.

I miss-identified this coin as a 1878-S. I believe it to be a 1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878 (Regular Strike).

If anyone is still interested, here are some hi-def scan images of the dollar.

AU58 cleaned with secondary toning, fingerprints, etc. This lot has a lot going on and much of it is not good. Sorry.
