Flippers are fleeing in droves.

The set is not very flippable due to its high cost and high mintage.

People should only buy this set if they like it.

I assume, that it could be related to 2 main factors:

**Sale, published by RCM. So some people cancelling and re-ordering (via Rep) and getting 3 free coins.

**Appearance of the set for issue at CC&C, and zero sales on ebay.
This was with 2017 SD / subscription.
People see that there is no immediate demand, so no need to buy it for issue from RCM.

CAD 700 for bigger and upgraded version of what we have for CAD 150...and not related to 150 Canada Anniversary. Deserves to think twice.

Well I guess since the flippers say the coins aren't very flippable then we should all cancel our orders.
Not really concerned about the flippers. I like the coins, I bought the coins ,I will keep the coins.

I only bought one set and that is for my personal collection.

But some people do buy coins for flipping but beats me why they do it when they is no money in it. There was a time when you could make some money reselling coins but it has long past.

At the same time I hate it when you buy coins you like at full price and then see them for big discount or even free a couple months later. There is definitely an argument made for the RCM overproducing coins.

It's a random targeted promotion. I have the discount on my account. Not buying anything with it though.

If anyone wants to eTransfer me + pay for shipping. I will buy whatever you want/3 free coins and ship it to you. :)

Only caveat is you probably won't be able to return whatever you buy because I don't want to deal with that. lol

This is very valid reason to cancel.
If someone likes the item and wants it, why not to pay less?
Years ago to buy on the secondary marked meant "used" / "owned", and now dealers stocked with new sealed items....

I also know, that there are some people, like to collect the coins, which assumingly will hold value. So, I understand, that with all wish to keep the item - they will prefer to cancel.

It seems totally misleading for RCM to claim something is Sold Out when unknown quantities have been supplied to their approved dealers to sell. Their marketing tactics could benefit from a fine coating of higher ethics in my opinion.

Just something to consider.....RCM also has the right to cancel a member's MC status as well. Frequently cancelled orders might be one reason why they might do that as most businesses tend not to reward high maintenance customers.

I sort of don't understand some buyers of this set, until all dealers sell out and start raising prices instantly, these early ebay listings who are you going to sell too if you can still purchase at issue. First day of general release and the set is now a dog, give it ten days or so then make the judgement to cancel.

There's no such thing as hot coins anymore. Buy what you like, not what sells

@john100

If you are a flipper, why would you even bother to order 10 sets if you are not going to wait more than 3 days to see where the set is going.

On a side note, Canadian Coin and Currency is now sold out of the penny set. Canada Post online has 4 of the 6 new releases but no penny set or Trivial Pursuit coin. Nothing yet from Gatewest or Colonial Acres.

Exactly. Even the Star Trek gold Delta has plummeted in price.
