I would like to know some information about this coin. The weight is 13.42 gram. I do believe it is probably a copy, but I would like to know if any US coin experts could tell me for sure 100%? Also, what is the US grading of this coin and the type? What will the value be if genuine? Even though the coin is a copy, I would still lie to know this information. Thanks. Palle, Denmark

You can obtain these copies for about US$2 with FREE shipping from China - that should give you some estimate of value.
If genuine, this coin would sell for thousands of dollars.

The nominal weight for these was 13,48 grams, so the weight at least seems to be in-line.
Check the edge. It should read FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR.
I seem to detect something under the A of states. If real, and we cannot dismiss it just yet, it may be O-113 one of the A/E varieties.

On a coin like this .. almost safer to look at it being fake. Of course ... that is what the op is thinking too. There are checks that should be done First is weight - RedBook list the weight should be 13.48 grams Also check to see if it would stick to a magnet As posted above, seeing the edge tells a lot If possible have the coin checked to make sure it is silver and the correct finess. This appears to be the two leaf variety If it was real I think it would grade EF Coin dealers greysheet price guide prices are VF $3500 EF $10,000 AU $16,000

Thanks. I am an advanced collector/dealer myself, but with US coins, I do not carry more than basic knowledge. I understand, this coin could be genuine - yes, it is most likely a copy, but who knows - I haven't seen the coin in hand. It is running out tonight Danish time - price by now is about $3500. Palle, DK :)

The coin sold for about $16.000 and probably an American bought it, my guess. Btw. many thanks to John1 for letting my know about the US coin fact forum here at this site. :)

I'm skeptical of any coin like this, especially without in-hand inspection. I cannot say with 100% certainty if this coin is genuine or not.

I guess if it sold at that price, someone thought it was something

Here is afairly high grade (EF-45)example of the 1795 half dollar. Bear in mind that there are many die varieties of this coin, and that they often differ in the placement of numbers and letters.
