coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/23/2017 5:52 pm Roller lines again. Note the tops of the ONE CENT do not show the lines, they wore off the coin during circulation. On a real woody, they would remain even after circulation because the poor mixture of the copper is the issue on the wheat woodies. It is in the planchet, rather than on top of the planchet. CoinMasters Pillar of the Community United States 5964 Posts	Posted 09/24/2017 02:40 am I agree both coins are Modern Woodys and thought to be caused by roller marks. They are both narrowly striped cents. Here's a picture of a traditional Woody thought to be caused by an improper alloy mix. While the Modern Woody is subject to wearing off relatively easy, some traditional Woodys wear too, because the improper alloy mix sometimes varies in depth in some coins. This is evidenced by the fact that traditional Woodys can be one or two sided. Also, we have seen one sided Woodys with worn off stripes. Report this Post to the Staff
