it is a Swiss coin of 5 francs , this kind of coins are shooting festival coins , intended primarily as prizes but also used in circulation for a brief time . This one is commemorating the festival in Basel in 1879 . It has to be silver. albert

Yes it is silver. The question is if this is a specimen.

Hi akcollector. Welcome to the forum! I'm confused by your question and I suspect others are as well. I don't understand what you mean by "a specimen". Can you ask your question a different way?

There are "specimens" of this coin.
See following picture....
How can I recognize if my coin is a specimen or not?

Here again the pictures from my coin...

your coin was worth 5 francs and has been used as legel tender in 1879 . The PCGS coin is the same as yours but not cleaned .So , your coin and that you call a specimen is exactly the same coin.albert
